Safety Compliance Assessments

Stonehaven evaluates workplace conditions, written safety programs, procedures, and records to determine whether applicable OSHA requirements are being met and hazards are effectively controlled. Findings are prioritized based on regulatory significance, hazard severity, and operational impact. Each assessment results in a clear corrective action plan to close compliance gaps, strengthen safety programs, and reduce workplace risk.

Services include:

  • OSHA compliance audits and gap assessments
  • Applicability evaluations for OSHA standards
  • Workplace safety inspections and hazard identification
  • Reviews of written safety programs, procedures, and recordkeeping systems
  • OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping evaluations, including Forms 300, 300A, and 301
  • Corrective action planning and implementation support
  • Support during OSHA inspections and with citation response and abatement

Written Safety Programs and Procedures

Written safety programs must translate regulatory requirements into actions employees and supervisors can carry out. Stonehaven develops, reviews, and updates facility-specific programs and procedures that define responsibilities, required controls, training, inspections, and recordkeeping. Forms, permits, checklists, and other tools are integrated into each program to support day-to-day use and consistent implementation.

Services include:

  • Hazard Communication (HazCom) programs
  • Control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout) programs and equipment-specific LOTO procedures
  • Permit-required confined space programs and entry procedures
  • Respiratory protection programs
  • Hearing conservation programs
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) programs
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plans
  • Chemical Hygiene Plans for laboratories
  • Supporting forms, permits, checklists, and recordkeeping tools

Industrial Hygiene

Potential employee exposures are evaluated based on the materials used, tasks performed, equipment, work practices, and existing controls. Stonehaven uses qualitative industrial hygiene assessments to identify where monitoring or additional controls may be warranted, then conducts targeted air sampling and noise monitoring as needed to characterize exposure. Results are compared with applicable OSHA permissible exposure limits and other recognized occupational exposure limits to support defensible decisions about controls and employee health protection.

Services include:

  • Qualitative industrial hygiene assessments and employee exposure evaluations
  • Air sampling and employee exposure monitoring for dusts, fumes, vapors, and gases
  • Occupational noise surveys, area noise mapping, and personal noise dosimetry
  • Respiratory hazard assessments and respirator selection
  • Industrial ventilation and exposure control evaluations
  • Exposure monitoring plans and industrial hygiene sampling strategies
  • Exposure control plans and substance-specific OSHA compliance programs

Hazard Assessments and PPE

Focused hazard assessments examine job tasks, equipment, and work areas to identify hazards and evaluate existing safeguards, work practices, and personal protective equipment. Stonehaven applies the hierarchy of controls to develop recommendations suited to the work being performed. The resulting documentation provides a basis for addressing hazards, standardizing safe work practices, selecting appropriate PPE, and meeting OSHA written certification requirements.

Services include:

  • Job hazard analyses (JHAs)
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) hazard assessments, written certifications, and selection recommendations
  • Machine guarding evaluations
  • Control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout) assessments
  • Confined space identification and permit-required confined space classification
  • Walking-working surface and fall protection assessments

Emergency Preparedness

Emergency plans must give employees usable direction before an incident occurs. Stonehaven prepares and updates procedures tailored to each facility’s hazards, layout, staffing, and available response resources. The procedures define how emergencies will be reported, how employees will be notified, who will perform critical actions, and how evacuation and accountability will be managed. Drills and tabletop exercises test those arrangements so procedures and communication can be refined before they are needed.

Services include:

  • Emergency Action Plan (EAP) development, review, and updates
  • Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) development, review, and updates
  • Emergency evacuation procedures, exit routes, assembly areas, and employee accountability
  • Emergency alarm, communication, and notification procedures
  • Response procedures for severe weather, fires, medical emergencies, and workplace violence
  • First aid, CPR, and automated external defibrillator (AED) program evaluations
  • Emergency drills and tabletop exercises

Employee Training

Effective workplace safety training gives employees the knowledge and skills needed to recognize hazards, use equipment safely, and follow safe work practices while meeting applicable regulatory training requirements. Stonehaven develops and delivers facility-specific training for employees and supervisors based on their responsibilities and the procedures they are expected to follow. Customized materials reinforce the training, while attendance records and tracking tools help facilities document completion and schedule required refresher training.

Services include:

  • Safety training needs assessments and compliance training matrices
  • Hazard Communication (HazCom) and chemical safety training
  • Control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout) training
  • Respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) training
  • Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Fire Prevention Plan (FPP), and evacuation training
  • Laboratory safety and Chemical Hygiene Plan training
  • Customized training materials, attendance records, and tracking tools
